KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Our flavors are built from scratch and almost every ingredient that goes into our ice cream is handmade in our South Philly kitchen. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our production team. 

This is a seasonal position (Spring/Summer).

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare ice cream containers and packaging for finished product

  • Pint and package finished ice cream into containers cleanly and efficiently

  • Assist Ice Cream Production team with ingredient preparation

  • Assist with making novelties, such as ice cream tacos and ice cream sandwiches

  • Properly label, date, pack, and store up to 1000 pints of ice cream each day

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace

  • Wash dishes and utensils and make sure they are stored properly

  • Clean food preparation equipment, floors, and other kitchen tools/areas

  • Work quickly, efficiently, and with attention to detail

  • Comply with all Food Safety standards and follow Good Manufacturing Practices while handling food products and equipment

  • Assist with other general tasks of all kinds as they arise

Requirements:

  • Age 18+

  • Prior commercial kitchen experience not necessary but highly preferred

  • Passion for food, cooking, teamwork, and quality

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Ability to tolerate freezing temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • A kind, hard-working, professional, team-oriented attitude

  • Great communication skills

Job Details and Benefits:

  • Compensation: $15-16/hour base pay (based on experience), plus an additional $4-$8 per hour in tips. The employee tip rate in 2025 was an average of $5.70/hour. Our company utilizes a tip-pooling structure that benefits both the front and back-of-house. 

  • Hours will be 35 to 40 per week with a consistent schedule.

  • Work days are Monday-Friday
